Audio

Question: Why does the application I installed not fit the Tablet resolution 1024x600?
Answer: The installed application is designed for cell phone and it may not support the full screen resolution (1024x600).    

Question: Why does the direction of Tablet rotation not match with the application (i.e. game)?
Answer: The installed application is designed for cell phone which has a vertical type design whereas the Tablet has a horizontal type design.    

Question: How do I  remove the application I installed?
Answer: Click "Settings" → "Applications" → "Downloaded applications" and then select the application you wish to uninstall.    

Question: How do I retrieve the installed applications after a factory data reset?
Answer: Simply install it again from App Center. The App center will not charge for the application again if it was already purchased. The purchased record is associated with your user account.    

Question: How do I locate a file downloaded from the internet? (not from App Center)?
Answer: The system will create a folder called "Download" using the internal storage SD card and store all downloaded files.

Battery

Question: How do I prolong the usage time of the Battery?
Answer:

  • Adjust the brightness of the Screen to a low  level in "Brightness setting".
  • Turn down the volume.
  • Set the sleep time to a lower level in "Screen timeout setting".
  • Turn off Wireless (WLAN, Bluetooth) if not in use.

Hardware

Question: Does the SN10T1 support GPS location function?
Answer: No, SN10T1 does not have GPS and does not support Location function.    

Question: Does the SN10T1 support vibration function?
Answer: No, SN10T1 does not support Vibration function.    

Question: Does the SN10T1 support external recording device? (i.e. Bluetooth headset)
Answer: No, SN10T1 does not support external recording device. (i.e. Bluetooth headset, USB microphone…etc.) Please use built-in microphone for recording.    

Question: Where to find the SIM card slot on the device? / Does the SN10T1 support 3G function?
Answer: SN10T1 does not have 3G function, therefore SN10T1 does not have a SIM card slot.

Power

Question: Does the SN10T1 USB port support USB charging?
Answer: No, SN10T1 USB port does not support USB charging. Please use provided AC adapter for charging.    

Question: How to check the Tablet if the Tablet cannot be turned on?
Answer:

  • If the power is low, connect to the electric outlets.
  • Press and hold the POWER/ Force-off button for a few seconds until the Hannspree logo appears.
  • Check the video display system is not in the external monitor mode.
  • Make sure the indicator light of the adapter turns on and the adapter works well.
  • Remove the micro-SD card and any other connected external devices.    

Question: Why does the Tablet not boot up properly when the Power LED is Green?
Answer: User may mis-trigger service mode. Press Power button again to exit service mode.

Setting

Question: Why does the screen brightness change automatically? How do I adjust?
Answer: There is a light sensor on the top left side of the screen. When the ambient light changes, it will adjust the screen brightness accordingly.

The light sensor can be turned on/off by changing the Auto-brightness in "Settings" → "Display".

Software update

Question: How do I find the Software (UI) Version from the device?
Answer: The Software (UI) version can be found in "Settings" → "About tablet" → "Tap UITM version".    

Question: How do I know if there is a Software update for the device and how do I apply the Software update?
Answer:

  1. Make sure the device WiFi is connecting to internet.
  2. Simply press on the "Updates" icon from the Home page and the device will check with the server automatically to see if there is an update or not.
    (The latest version of Software can be checked on the Hannspree website "http://global.hannspree.net/".)
  3. Follow the instruction on the pop up screen when there is an update available.
    (The online update depends on WiFi strength. It may take longer to download the Software from the server when WiFi strength is weak.)

Storage

Question: How do I disconnect inserted Micro SD card from Tablet?
Answer: It is recommended to remove the Micro SD card from "Settings" → "Storage" → "Unmount SD card".    

Question: Why is the inserted Micro SD card not working or showing "Damaged SD card" on the system status (Ongoing Tasks)?
Answer:

  • Make sure the SD card is not damaged.
  • Removing the SD card inappropriately may cause SD card detection fail
  • When the SD card is inserted, go to "Settings" → "Storage" → "SD card" → "Mount SD card" to engage SD card manually or simply re-insert the SD card.    

Question: Where do I find the Micro SD card storage I inserted?
Answer: In Home screen, enter ES File Explorer and you should find the external storage "sdcard2" under root.

  • Folder "sdcard2" represents external Micro SD card storage.
  • Folder "sdcard" represents internal storage.

System

Question: How do I recover the factory status?
Answer: Click "Settings" → "Security" → "Factory data reset" to clear all user settings and recover the system to the default status.

(All installed applications and personal data will be erased (emails, contacts...etc.). Data saved in the internal storage like photos, music files etc will not be erased.) Make sure to back up files.    

Question: What is the different between "Reset Button" and "Factory Reset"?
Answer:

  • Reset button
    This is a physical button on the bottom right corner on the back of the case. It helps to restart the system compulsively if the system has halted.
  • Factory reset
    It is a soft reset which can be performed from system "Settings" → "Security" → "Factory data reset".
    Once reset, all settings will be restored to factory default settings and you will be required to do the initial settings.

(All installed applications and personal data will be erased (emails, contacts...etc.). Data saved in the internal storage like photos, music files etc will not be erased.) Make sure to back up files.    

Question: Should I apply the "Factory Data reset" after a system update?
Answer: There is no need to apply the "Factory Data reset" after a system update. All the updates will be applied automatically once OTA update is complete.

If you want to apply "Factory Data reset", please be aware that all installed applications and personal data will be erased (emails, contacts...etc.).    

Question: What is the Android system recovery?
Answer: The Android system recovery utility is an add-on recovery tool for the device. Wrong operation or misuse might cause system abnormalities and data/application loss. Please use it with care.    

Question: What are the functions of Android system recovery utility and how do I use?
Answer: Press and hold VolumeUp(+) button and Power button at the same time for 5 seconds, and release both buttons to enter system recovery utility.

There are 6 options on Android system recovery utility.

  1. Reboot System Now
    Exit the system recovery utility and reboot.
  2. Apply Internal update.zip
    Run the Software update. The update Software (update.zip) must be stored in root of internal storage /SD card.
  3. Apply External SD card update.zip
    Run the Software update. The update Software (update.zip) must be stored in root of external SD Card.
  4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
    Run Factory Data Reset. All settings will be restored to factory default settings and you will be required to do the initial settings.
    (All installed applications and personal data will be erased (created mail accounts, contacts...etc.) from device. Data saved in both external and internal storage like photos, music files etc will not be erased.) Make sure to back up files.
  5. Wipe Cache Partition
    Clear device caches.
  6. Calibrate Touch panel
    Run touch panel calibration automatically. Please be aware that wrong operation or misuse may cause touch panel abnormalities. Please follow the instructions shown exactly during this process.

Touch Panel

Question: Why is the touch panel not responding (the screen display is working)?
Answer:

  • Press Reset button to check whether the Tablet can be booted into system or not.
  • Enter Tablet main page, press Volume button to test whether the volume is working or not. (check whether the system is responding or not)
  • If the system can be rebooted and the volume button is working, the touch sensor function might have failed. Please contact your local service provider for assistance.

Video

Question: Why is there no display/imageon the external  device I am connecting to. (i.e. TV, Monitor)
Answer: Make sure the HDMI cable is firmly connected at both ends.

Select HDMI input from the device you have connected.

Wireless

Question: How do I set up Wireless WiFi connection?
Answer:

  • Turn on the WiFi
    Press the WiFi Icon on the top right corner of the screen (status bar) or from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Wi-Fi".
  • Find a WLAN
    Select a network from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Wi-Fi" → "Wi-Fi Settings". Your Tablet will automatically search for available networks.
  • Add WLAN manually
    Press "Add Wi-Fi network" from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Wi-Fi" → "Wi-Fi Settings". Enter the Network SSID and select Security type. Select Save to finish.    

Question: I am not able to locate a Bluetooth device.
Answer:

  • Make sure both Bluetooth devices are turned ON. The Tablet Bluetooth can be turned ON from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Bluetooth".
  • Make sure both Bluetooth devices are within the maximum Bluetooth range. (i.e. within 10 meters).    

Question: Why can I not find the Wireless access point for my internet connection?
Answer:

  1. Make sure the access point is working.
  2. If the access point can not be found from the Tablet automatically, manually set up the access point from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Wi-Fi" → "Wi-Fi Settings" → "Add Wi-Fi network".
  3. If the access point is still missing after manual set up, the Wireless channel of the access point might not be in the built-in channel list.
  4. User can manually select the Wireless channel of the access point from "Settings" → "Wireless & networks" → "Wi-Fi" → "Wi-Fi Settings" → "Advanced Settings" → "Regulatory domain".

Other

Question: How do I clean the device?
Answer: Wipe the device using a clean cellulose sponge or chamois cloth (i.e. 3M clean cloth)

It is recommended that you clean the device with the power off.    

Question: How do I type special characters from the virtual keyboard in device (i.e. à á â ã ä å)?
Answer: On the virtual keyboard, simply tap and hold on a particular letter to bring up special characters for selection.

(i.e. when you tap and hold on letter "a", special characters "à á â ã ä å" will be displayed for selection.)
